The
Carrboro News Awards
The
Carrboro News Awards are our way of honoring the people, places
and things of Carroboro that have made it a unique place. Without
605 Main St. how could we appreciate the Weaver Street Commons?
Without the gaps in the bike paths, how would we appreaciate the
space set aside specifically for bikers?
Too
often awards are given to those who know they deserve them and
not enough attention is given to those people and projects that
are hoping they will slip by unnoticed. Within the present political
climate, mediocrity has become acceptable- and even revered.(
A "C" average student can now run(into the ground)the
most powerful nation on the planet).
As
a reflection of the modern American thought process we too will
take that attitude in hopes of being accepted by the mainstream
of America.
And
so I present The Carrboro News Award in hopes of riding our own
wave of mediocrity on to success!(If you have a special person,
place or thing in your heart that you thing deserves special recognition,
please don't hesitate to contact us!)
